Company Boasts Five of the Ten Veterinary Professionals Nationwide With Advanced Valuation Credentials
Providing continuing education programs for its members is a core responsibility of many professional organizations and is the case for the business valuation industry. In addition to their basic continuing education program, they also make available advanced courses of study. These difficult courses of study require a considerable dedication of study time, successfully passing proficiency examinations and writing acceptable peer-reviewed appraisal reports. Only a small percentage of appraisers successfully complete these courses and are awarded a special designation. These valued designations carry considerable prestige among fellow appraisers, the judicial system and the business appraisal community.
Five Simmons members have qualified for the advanced valuation designations. They are:
Certified Business Appraiser (CBA)
Larry McCormick, DVM, MBA, CBA – Simmons Mid-Atlantic
Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA)
Kirsten Poppen, JD, AVA – Simmons Midwest
Byron Farquer, DVM, AVA – Simmons Pacific
David Gerber, DVM, AVA – Simmons Northwest
David King, DVM, AVA – Simmons Southcentral
“Being on the cutting edge of information enables us to give our clients the best possible service,” said David King, DVM, Simmons Southcentral. “Attaining AVA or CBA accreditation isn’t as significant as the process it took to earn that accreditation.”
Currently, nationwide there are only ten valuation professionals who work exclusively within the veterinary profession and who have earned one of these advanced credentials. Remarkably, of those ten, five are with Simmons & Associates. Additionally, four other members of the firm are currently in the process of completing the requirements for their designation:
