Simmons MidSouth

Dr. Wilson McManus is pleased to represent Simmons & Associates MidSouth, serving veterinary professionals in Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. Dr. McManus offers a unique blend of veterinary practice ownership and business knowledge, along with a passion for veterinary medicine. As the previous owner of Valley Animal Hospital & Pet Resort, an AAHA accredited hospital, and active ownership interest in other hospitals, he understands first-hand the business and medical aspects of veterinary medicine.

The son of a practicing veterinarian, Dr. McManus earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences from Auburn University and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1988. He is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. He earned his certification as a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) from the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Dr. McManus is a charter and current member of Veterinary Management Groups V in association with Veterinary Study Groups Inc. Through this ongoing association he has extensively studied the metrics and business principles that go into creating a top performing hospital. Dr. McManus also studied over a two-year period to become a graduate of the E-Myth Mastery Entrepreneurial Business Development Program.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. McManus is a licensed real-estate broker in Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, and has many years of experience in commercial real-estate investment and management. For eight years, with a local church, he started and operated an annual veterinary medical clinic in Honduras working with both large and small animals in remote villages. He lives in Huntsville, AL with his wife, three children and many pets.
